What exactly do we mean by karma and why is it so important?

Karma is a concept found in many Eastern religions, such as Buddhism. It refers to the idea that a person’s actions in this life will have an impact on their future lives or their ultimate destiny. In general, good karma is believed to lead to positive outcomes in the future, while negative karma may lead to negative consequences.

Karma is the law of cause and effect. A person’s past actions condition the present, and a person’s present actions condition the future. There are three different types of karma: prarabdha, sanchita, and kriyamana or agami. Prarabdha karma is experienced through the present body and is only a part of sanchita karma which is the sum of one’s past karmas, whereas agami karma is the result of current decisions and actions.
